Specialty Contact Lenses

At Low Country Eyecare we strive to offer the latest science and technology to enhance our patients visual needs. Our Doctors have worked hard to stay at the forefront of new contact lens designs and materials. Some of the most exciting innovations have come in Scleral Lens technology in the treatment of corneal disease, Keratoconus, and post surgical cornea care. We are also proud to offer all of the latest bifocal contact lens designs.

Scleral Contact Lenses

Traditionally people with Keratoconus or high astigmatism were forced to wear small gas permeable contacts to improve their vision. Although these lenses provided better vision than conventional glasses they were uncomfortable and often provided variable vision throughout the day. Scleral lenses are large gas permeable lenses that vault the entire cornea. These lenses provide superior comfort, vision, and health as compared to lenses of the past. If you have reduced vision from Keratoconus, high astigmatism, or a post surgical cornea come and see what one of our experienced Doctors can do for you.

Bifocal Contact Lenses

One of the most frustrating times in life is when near vision begins to change. People over 40 have long relied on bifocal glasses to allow them to read. Recently, contact lens manufacturers have done extensive research and development in the area of soft and hard bifocal contact lenses. The Doctors and staff at Low Country Eyecare have access to the latest designs and science that these companies have to offer. Talk with one of our friendly staff to see if this mode of vision correction may be right for you.
